Hefei Epidemic Report on February 23

Anhui Provincial Health Commission confirms that between 00:00 and 24:00, February 22, the following were newly reported in Hefei:
A) 0 confirmed case;
B) 0 suspected case; and
C) 4 cured and discharged cases.
As of 24:00 on February 22, there is a total of 174 confirmed cases in Hefei, among which there are 101 cured and discharged cases, 1 fatal case, 72 confirmed cases under medical treatment in hospital and no critical case. 4569 close contacts are under medical observation.

Of the confirmed cases, 136 are from Hefei (26 in Feidong county, 6 in Feixi county, 5 in Changfeng county, 3 in Lujiang county, 2 in Chaohu sub-city, 29 in Yaohai district, 17 in Luyang district, 19 in Shushan district, 9 in Baohe district, 2 in Hefei Hgh-tech Industrial Development Zone, and 18 in Xinzhan High-tech Industrial Development Zone) and 38 are from other cities.

Of the cured and discharged cases, 46 are from Hefei Infectious Diseases Hospital (Anhui Provincial Hospital Infectious Diseases Hospital), 13 from Hefei Binhu Hospital, 12 from Hefei Second People’s Hospital, 20 from the First Affiliated Hospital to Anhui Medical University, 3 from the Second Affiliated Hospital to Anhui Medical University, 2 from Chaohu Hospital affiliated to Anhui Medical University and 5 from Anhui No.2 Provincial People’s Hospital. Among the confirmed cases treated in the hospital, there are 23 in Hefei Infectious Diseases Hospital (Anhui Provincial Hospital Infectious Diseases Hospital), 7 in Hefei Binhu Hospital, 14 in Hefei Second People’s Hospital, 13 in the First Affiliated Hospital to Anhui Medical University, 1 in the Second Affiliated Hospital to Anhui Medical University, 2 in Chaohu Hospital affiliated to Anhui Medical University and 12 in Anhui No.2 Provincial People’s Hospital.

Of the confirmed cases, 93 are male and 81 are female. The youngest is 5 years old, and the oldest is 91 years old. Among the cases, 3 are 10 years old and below, 4 between 11-20 years old, 34 between 21-30 years old, 33 between 31-40 years old, 46 between 41-50 years old, 31 between 51-60 years old, 13 between 61-70 years old, and 10 among 71 years old and above.

Of the discharged cases, there are 55 males and 46 females. The youngest is 5 years old and the oldest is 75 years old. Among the cases, 2 are 10 years old and below, 3 between 11-20 years old, 20 between 21-30 years old, 20 between 31-40 years old , 30 between 41-50 years old, 18 between 51-60 years old, 4 between 61-70 years old, and 4 among 71 years old and above.

Anhui Epidemic Report on February 23

Between 00:00 and 24:00, February 22,the following were newly reported by the Health Commission of Anhui Province:
a) 0 confirmed case;
b) 0 suspected case; and
c) 53 cured and discharged cases.

Of the cured and discharged cases, 20 are in Bengbu, 9 in Fuyang, 6 in Anqing, 4 in Hefei, 4 in Lu’an, 3 in Bozhou, 3 in Suzhou, 2 in Ma’anshan, 1 in Huainan, and 1 in Tongling.

By 24:00, February 22, the following had been reported in Anhui Province:
a) 989 confirmed cases;
b) 620 cured and discharged cases;
c) 6 fatal cases;
d) 27,093 close contacts, and
e) 2,829 cases under close medical observation.

Of the confirmed cases, 174 are in Hefei, 160 in Bengbu, 155 in Fuyang, 108 in Bozhou, 83 in Anqing, 69 in Lu’an, 41 in Suzhou, 38 in Ma’anshan, 33 in Wuhu, 29 in Tongling, 27 in Huaibei, 27 in Huainan, 17 in Chizhou, 13 in Chuzhou, 9 in Huangshan, and 6 in Xuancheng.

To date, a total of 363 confirmed cases are under medical treatment in hospital, including 2 severe cases.

28 cases are about to be cured and discharged by February 23, 7 in Bozhou, 6 in Bengbu, 4 in Anqing, 3 in Fuyang, 2 in Hefei, 2 in Huaibei, 2 in Wuhu, 1 in Lu’an, and 1 in Tongling.

In order to provide the public with proper ways of using sanitizer, National Health Commission published Guidelines for Sanitizer Usage, advocating “Five Dos and Seven Don’ts ”, to cut off disease sources and the spread of infection.

Five Dos:
1. Do strengthen the sanitation in isolation section and patients’ habitation;
2. Do strengthen the sanitation in crowded public places, such as hospitals, airports and train stations;
3. Do strengthen the sanitation on frequently-touched spots, such as door handles or elevator push buttons;
4. Do strengthen the bio-safety disposal of waste, feces and sewage;
5. Do strengthen personal sanitation.

Seven Don’ts:
1. Don’t perform large-scale sanitation in outdoor places;
2. Don’t sanitize outdoors in the air;
3. Don’t sanitize directly to people;
4. Don’t put sanitizers into ponds, reservoirs or artificial lakes;
5. Don’t apply chemical sanitizer with people around;
6. Don’t cleanse or spray with glutaraldehyde fluid;
7. Don’t apply highly concentrated chlorine disinfectant in preventive disinfection.
