On January 25, 21 new confirmed cases of pneumonia infected with the new coronavirus were reported in Anhui and as of 24:00 on January 25, 60 cases have been confirmed in total, with no deaths or cured. There are 13 cases in Hefei, 10 in Fuyang, 7 in Ma’anshan, 6 in Bozhou, 5 in Anqing, 3 in Lu’an, 3 in Tongling, 3 in Wuhu, 2 in Suzhou, 2 in Chuzhou, 1 in Huaibei, 1 in Bengbu, 1 in Huainan, 1 in Xuancheng, 1 in Chizhou and 1 in Huangshan. At present, 1023 close contacts have been traced and are all under medical observation.
According to analysis by the provincial CDC, the epidemic situation in Anhui is characterized as follows:
The first is the rapid growth of confirmed cases. The second factor is that rural areas account for a high proportion. According to classification by address, there are 12 urban cases, accounting for 20% of the total, and 48 rural cases, accounting for 80%.
Thirdly, the proportion of middle-aged and old people is high. The youngest is 22 years old, the oldest is 62 years old, and the median age is 42.1 years old. The top three age groups are 40-49 years old (18 cases, 30.0%), 50-59 years old (14 cases, 23.3%) and 30-39 years old (13 cases, 21.7%).
