Recently, a primary school student in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, received the “Golden Pickup” trophy specially awarded to him by the local public security agency at his school’s new semester flag raising ceremony.
The kid is a 12 years old fifth-grade student at the Second Experimental Primary School Affiliated to Shenyang University , Liaoning. On the afternoon of February 22 , he and his mother found a green canvas bag hanging on the fence of a roadside community. The bag had a hole in it exposing the cash inside. The mother and son hurried forward to check and found that they were all bundles of hundred-yuan bills.
The owner denies losing money
After an on-site inspection, the police found that there were 26 bundles of hundred-yuan bills in the green bag. Through the name stamp on the strap, the police traced the bank from which the money was withdrawn and found the person who withdrew the money. However, when the police contacted the man, the other party claimed that he had only taken 20,000 yuan.
As a result, the police contacted staffs in the man’s community. After questioning, it was learned that the owner had some mental problems due to his divorce from his wife. After he withdrew the money, he hung the bag on the fence of the roadside community. The money was compensation for the demolition of his family house. After repeated verifications, the police finally returned the huge sum of 260,000 yuan to the owner’s parents.
“Character is more precious than money.” Actually, after picking up the money, the kid did not mention the matter to his classmates and teachers until the local police station contacted the school and expressed that they wanted to give him an award at the school.
