“Made in Hefei” Chips Break Foreign Market Monopoly

Read Time:59 Second

The “Intelligent Sensor and Unmanned System Application Forum” was recently held in Beijing Institute of Technology, where the 77GHz millimeter wave auto radar chips and AiP modules from the 38th Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation drew the wide attention and high recognition from industry professionals.

The 77GHz millimeter wave chip, the core chip of auto radar sensors, is subjected to the monopoly by foreign countries. After three-year unremitting efforts, in 2019, the program team of the 38th Institute successfully tackled such core technologies as millimeter wave circuit design, wafer level package and AiP design, making the main performance index of chips in line with that of international counterparts, and realizing the integration of multi-channel 77GHz millimeter wave chips and single seven-channel AiP. Meanwhile, the 38th Institute published 12 international papers and completed three reports on first-class international conferences in integrated circuit field such as RFIC, ISCAS and ESSCIRC. This program was supported by some projects such as the major science and technology project of Anhui Province and strategic emerging bases of Anhui Province.
