In the exposure of false publicity, New Oriental , a famous teaching and training institution, was named. Among the 103 teachers in the column of “famous teachers” of New Oriental, the actual teaching years of 76 teachers were inconsistent with the publicity .
In addition to New Oriental, Lantian was named in false publicity. Lantian advertised that among its 121-person teaching and research team “more than 85% of the teachers were from top universities”. In fact, only 18 teachers graduated from such universities. , accounting for less than 15%.
China Consumer Association pointed out that false publicity is mainly manifested in exaggerating the effect or achievements after training, strength of teachers, institutions’ qualifications and false user praise.
Data from the Ministry of Education showed that by the end of 2018, there were more than 400,000 off-campus training institutions nationwide.
