On the afternoon of the 4th, Guangzhou City held a press conference on epidemic prevention and control (the 71st in 2021). At the meeting, Zhang Zhoubin, deputy director of the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, stated that according to the current epidemiological investigation of the reported cases, this round of the epidemic in Guangzhou is characterized by clusters in local areas and families. There is no evidence that it can be transmitted to people through objects .
The first is because most of the reported cases are close contacts of previous cases, especially family and contacts with frequent social activities.
In addition, some cases discovered through large-scale investigations also have time-space intersections with previous cases in many key places, especially in those with poor air circulation such as morning tea shops and small restaurants. Both of these points show that the current spread of the epidemic is caused by human-to-human transmission , there is transmission caused by “indirect face-to-face contact.”
Guangzhou Disease Control has also conducted environmental monitoring in some key places in the nine regions involved. Among the 2,620 environmental sampled, 93.5% of the positive samples were collected at the home of the cases.
At the same time, other routine environmental monitoring in the city is also continuing, and the recent 3,024 sample results are all negative. This also shows from another aspect that there is no “physical transmission”.
