In the face of the coronavirus outbreak, Taiwan businessmen and enterprises in Hefei have shown their brotherly love in various ways to help fight the epidemic.
Taiwan businessmen and enterprises in Hefei donated epidemic prevention materials to support epidemic prevention and control with practical actions while making efforts to resume business. Recently, at the initiative of Hefei Taiwan Compatriots Investment Enterprises Association, its members donated more than 200,000 yuan for the purchase of ethanol for disinfection and protective masks and sent these supplies to frontline epidemic prevention personnel.
Union Semiconductor, a Taiwan enterprise located in Xinzhan High-tech Zone, has generously donated money and various materials. It purchased 200,000 yuan worth of protective masks and donated them, in batches, to Xinqiao Airport, Hefei South Railway Station, hospitals, public security bureaus and frontline communities. Zheng Dangnian, head of the company, said: “This is our social responsibility and what compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits should do in the face of the epidemic.”
Taiwan enterprises such as Living Word Shanghai, Hefei Dingjin and Want Want also enthusiastically offered their love and donated nearly 200,000 yuan worth of masks and instant foods. Members of the Hefei Taiwan Federation and the Liu Mingchuan Association for the Promotion of Economic and Cultural Exchanges also donated cash, disinfectants, masks, vegetables, etc. Up to now, Taiwan businessmen, enterprises, compatriots and relatives of Taiwan compatriots living on the mainland in Hefei have donated a total of 800,000 yuan in cash and material supplies.
